Potentate's Message

Nobles and friends, it is indeed a pleasure to connect with you and share with you the News and Events of our Temple. As Potentate of Orak Shrine for 2012, I will try my best to keep you informed of the exciting things we are developing and I hope you will take advantage of the many events and opportunities we will be providing the Nobles and their friends and families. This year is already well underway, and as we move into March we have already seen a successful Circus in LaPorte and a delightful Sweetheart Dance at the Temple. We have no signs of slowing down in March, with 4 Friday Night Fish Frys during the season of Lent and our annual St. Patrick's Day celebration on March 16th. Just around the corner, on March 3rd we will be Gathering for a Dinner at Gauchos Brazilian Steak House at 4pm. Its all you can eat surf and turf menu, and its only $30.Of course our Stated meetings are always on the 2nd Monday of each month, and our units are meeting throughout the month as well.
This year we have separated the purchase of a Fez from the Initiation fee, so now a Master Mason can join the Shrine for only $115. He can purchase a Fez at that time for $105, or wait till a later date if that suits his budget better. There are a few functions at our Temple that require a Fez, but plenty of functions and events that do not, so you can join and get active and enjoy the Shrine either way.
We will do our best this year to focus on communication, and in addition to the publication of the Orak Inkling we will also be utilizing our website and Facebook as well as Emails, mailings and phone alerts. Our goal is to include each of you, in hopes that you will come and participate in the fun we planned for the coming year.
